General
Okay, so, we're going to go a little unrealistic now... wheee for unrealistic! I'm sort of going to blend deer rituals with lion rituals so, bear with me.
Since I don't want there to be a billion lionesses and like, two lions, I'm going to be allowing special male lions to have their own special permanent ranks in the pride instead of just one or two leaders, and then the young males. That'll come later.
The pride seperates seasons into two halves: Dry Seasons and Wet Seasons, the names of which just speak for themsleves. Inside of these they have split it into two. For the Dry Seasons, there is Warm'Sky and Hot'Sky [Spring & Summer]. For the Wet Seasons, there is Cool'Sky and Cold'Sky [Autumn & Winter]. It is divided like this because life on the serengeti doesn't have things like snow and forests losing their leaves to categorize seasons. There's just a time when it rains alot, and a time when it doesn't.
Anyway, what is different about the Fire Circlet Pride, (besides the amount of males) is that once a year, starting at the end of Cool'Sky and lasting till the end of Cold'Sky, all of the lions [or lionesses in some cases] choose/re-claim their mate for that year [see? It's sort of a mix of all different animals.]
Unlike deer, lions in this RPG don't choose a lot of different lionesses, and sometimes, it is the lionesses who choose. Cubs do not nessacarily result from the pairings. For most lions and lionesses it is just a choosing of their partners they will stick with for that year. If a pair is in love they may continuously choose each other each year.
If another lion wants a certain lioness, both lions fight for her, and vice versa if two lionesses want the same male. This seasonal change is called Flame's Spell. Then, just like deer, when Flame's Spell is basically over, any male who wants to challenge the King for his position may do so.
Since lions can live to be about fifteen years old, the age range for Flame's Spell would be 4-12.

Ranks
King Male leader of the pride. His mate/fellow ruler is the Queen, and they usually choose each other during Flame's Spell, but not always. Any rank can fight the King for the Queen.
Queen Female leader of the pride. Her mate/fellow ruler is the King, and they usually choose each other during Flame's Spell, but not always. Any rank can fight the Queen for the King.
Lord Like the beta of a pack, the Lord is the second in command male. His mate/fellow ruler is the Lady. Same rules for Flame's Spell apply.
Lady She is the counterpart of the Lord, and his mate/fellow ruler. Same rules for Flame's Spell apply.
Sentries This is either a female or male rank. It is the equivalant of what a Scout might be considered.
Hunters Lower-ranked females. The majority of lionesses are this rank.
Warriors Lower-ranked males. The majority of lions are this rank.
Elders Very old and respected lions who are too old to hunt and who most often don't take part in Flame's Spell and occasionally are Storytellers and/or handicapped.
Outsider A lion not yet part of the Fire Circlet Pride.
Cub Not yet ranked. Too young. <33
